Back in time

In the late 1970s, Paula owned a shop on Stationsstraat in Aalter. After seven years, the business became too large, and she decided to sell it.

Meanwhile, Jean also moves into a larger office

The van is replaced by a 'professional' pickup.

And the children are growing up...

Until the mid-1980s, customers were welcomed in Jean and Paula's living room and at trade fairs. From the mid-1980s onward, we welcomed customers to the showroom at Trade Mart, near the Atomium in Brussels, which at the time was Belgium's purchasing center.

Chris van Parys joins the team. He worked as a sales representative at Marie Méro until early 2021, after a career spanning no less than 36 years!

In the early 1990s, the showroom moved to Fashion Gardens, part of Trade Mart. The showroom became considerably larger. Here we see Nancy for the first time. Nancy had already worked as a model. When a position for a sales representative in Wallonia opened up, she jumped at the chance. She followed her fashion instincts.

The sales team in the '90s. You'll recognize Chris and Nancy. We'll feature models Anneke and Kathy later. Jean's sister, Marilyn, was also on hand to help out when things got busy.

In the late 1990s we took part in the international CPD trade fair in Düsseldorf.

Besides working hard, we occasionally make time for a party or two. We don't need much to have a good time.
