In 1971 Jean and Paul started under the brand name 'Boekee':
The first advertisement can be spotted in the magazine 'Joepie'.
The very first fashion show will take place in the restaurant 'Biezemhof' in Aalter.

In 1976, Paula and Jean were traveling in the United States and sitting in a restaurant. They were discussing the brand name. "Boekee" is difficult to pronounce in French.
They decide to look for a different brand name. They also want to offer a complete collection (pants, skirts, blouses, dresses, etc.). The restaurant where they are currently sitting is called 'Rosie's.
The new brand name is a fact ...
Rosie's logo has undergone several evolutions over the years.

Rosie's first photoshoot:

In 1994, the first TV commercial featuring the dog Kamiel as figurehead appeared.

In 2005, it was time for a refresh. The Rosie's brand had been around for over 30 years. The name also couldn't be used in several countries because it was registered there and used by a different company.
Unfortunately, we can't connect a sexy story to the origins of the name Marie Méro. There are no daughters named Marie or Méro. :-) After much brainstorming, the name Marie Méro finally emerged. We were immediately sold. The three spheres in our logo represent the different generations we dress.
We're gradually letting customers get used to the new name. The first hangtags still refer to the old name "Rosie's."

Clients are invited to a spectacular fashion event in Antwerp. As a surprise, they learn the new name!
The launch will take place in the Stuurboord hall in Antwerp.

With a renewed image, Marie Méro wants to continue with the same momentum as before, with the same festive appearance.
The Marie Méro woman is feminine, balanced, mystical, and flexible. With this rejuvenation, the collection will have an even stronger appeal than before.
The first collection is a hit!

Marie Méro as it looks today. Proud to be a quintessentially Belgian label!
