Mag je een broek dragen naar een feest?

Can you wear trousers to a party?

An invitation to a party does not automatically mean you have to pull a dress out of your closet. After all, can a woman be perfectly dressed in trousers? Absolutely.
According to etiquette expert Isabelle Coppens, there are currently many occasions where festive trousers perfectly fit the dress code.

When should you choose trousers?
From a communion or spring celebration to a wedding, reception, or festive dinner: trousers can be just as elegant as a dress.
Only for the most formal dress codes, white tie or gala attire, does traditional etiquette dictate a long evening gown for women.
For other occasions, you have much more freedom. And it’s mainly about how you wear the trousers.

“Trousers can absolutely be festive. Pay close attention to the fabric and the cut.”

The right fabric makes the difference
Do you want to give trousers a dressier look? Then first look at the material.

A supple fabric that moves beautifully, a sophisticated texture, or a subtle sheen immediately gives trousers a more festive character. Combine them with an elegant blouse, a refined top, or a matching jacket and you will create a complete party look without a dress.
The cut also plays an important role. Trousers with a wider leg often look dressier and create an elegant, flowing silhouette.

Festive in your own way
Within the Marie Méro collections, you will find various trousers made to last for more than one moment. Combine them festively for a special occasion, but they look just as lovely afterward with a simpler top for a lunch, workday, or night out.
This way, you aren’t just choosing an outfit for that one party, but a piece you can reach for time and time again.
Because being elegantly dressed doesn't always have to mean wearing a dress.
